INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL COURSES CERTIFICATED WITH NUCO

  • First Aid – FAA Level 3 Award – 2-Day

A First Aid course designed for those who have an interest in outdoor activities. This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.

  • Airway Management Training

This is an excellent workshop to equip learners with the necessary skills in Airway Management. It will advise on the inherent dangers associated with the various types of Airways, whilst administering first aid in a high-risk environment for the purpose of saving life. It has been developed to meet the requirements of industries that consider themselves to be at high risk following a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

  • BLS & Safe Use of an AED – FAA Level 2 Award – 4 hours

Course comprising a minimum of 4 hours of practical and theoretical training covering first aid; resuscitation; minor injuries; dealing with an unresponsive casualty; use of an AED.

  • Catastrophic Bleeding Control

This is an excellent workshop to equip learners in how to deal with Catastrophic Bleeding. It will advise on the inherent dangers associated with the use of Tourniquets and Haemostatic Dressings, whilst administering first aid in a high risk environment for the purpose of saving life. It has been developed to meet the requirements of industries that consider themselves to be at high risk following a suitable and sufficient risk assessment

  • Emergency First Aid at Work – FAA Level 3 Award – 1 day

Course comprising a minimum of 6 hours of practical and theoretical training covering responsibilities; assessment of the situation; first aid hygiene; resuscitation; anatomy; choking; bleeding; shock; epilepsy; minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty. Compliant with Health & Safety Executive code of Practice.

  • Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis – FAA Level 3 Award – 1 day

An Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a life-threatening, serious allergic reaction to an allergen such as food substances or insect stings. If it is not treated appropriately, it may cause death. This training is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively.

  • Oxygen Therapy Administration – FAA Level 3 Award – 1 day

This training enables users to administer oxygen safely and effectively, for casualties with breathing difficulties. Delegates will learn how and when to administer oxygen to a casualty and the safety concerns with carrying, storing and administering it. This course is suitable for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, and dental practitioners and dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals and others working in an environment where oxygen is available for casualty welfare.

  • Paediatric Emergency First Aid – FAA Level 3 – 1 day

A Level 3 First Aid course designed for those who have an interest in child and baby Basic Life Support governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or OFSTED. This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.

Highfeild Awarding Body of Compliance (HABC)

 

HABC Level 2 International Award in Security Guarding

This qualification has been developed for those looking to become security guards. Topics covered include the role of a security officer, patrolling, basic search procedures, technology in the security environment and responding to alarm activations. The HABC Level 2 International Award in Security Guarding is accredited and recognised internationally and has been developed to protect customers, brand reputation and profits.


This qualification is usually achieved by taking a four-day classroom-based course. However, it can also be achieved through a variety of other methods including blended and distance learning, as long as the recommended learning hours are completed.

It is divided into 3 units and is assessed through 3 multiple-choice examinations

Unit 1:

Working in the Security Industry Assessed by a 1 hour 20 question multiple-choice examination. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 14 out of 20 to pass this unit.

Unit 2:

Working as a Security Officer in the Security Industry Assessed by a 1 hour 20 question multiple-choice examination. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 14 out of 20 to pass this unit.

Unit 3:

Working in Conflict Management in the Security Industry Assessed by a 45 minute 15 question multiple-choice examination. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15 to pass this unit

NUCO/Highfields Award in

Fire Awareness Level 1 & 2


A minimum of 4-8 contact hours in the classroom.

Syllabus

A range of subjects is covered including:

• The common causes of fire • The behavior of fire • Legislation (brief) and responsibilities • Fire prevention • What to do if a fire breaks out • How to use fire extinguishers • Emergency evacuation procedures

Certification

The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.

Health and Safety Level 1 & 2


Duration

This is a one-day classroom based course. Dependent on the learner’s experience, there may well be some pre-course or post-course reading.

Syllabus

A range of subjects is covered including:

• The roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace. • The value and process of risk assessments.• The identification and control of workplace hazards. • How to respond to workplace incidents and accidents

Certification

Assessment is on-going by the instructor, culminating with a multiple choice question paper. This qualification does not expire, but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies and procedures is vital to keep the qualification current.

Manual Handling Level 1 & 2


Duration

This is a 6-hour classroom based course. Dependant on the learner’s experience, there may well be some pre-course or post-course reading.

Syllabus

A range of subjects are covered that will equip delegates to:

• Understand the reasons for safe manual handling • Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety • Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety • Be able to apply safe manual handling principles

Certification

Practical assessment is on-going by the instructor, culminating with a written test.
